Karen Byron, Sr. Regional Human Resources Manager - Waterton Residential
Karen joined the human resources team at Waterton Residential in June 2010. Experience includes both strategic and tactical initiatives for all HR affairs including employment/recruitment, performance management, policy administration, compensation, benefits, leave of absence, employee and labor relations, training and development, and HRIS. Received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from North Central College and a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University.
Leticia Ransom - DuSable Museum
Leticia Ransom built a successful career in human resource management by capitalizing on her skills and networking abilities. With more than two decades of progressively responsible experience on her resume, she currently services as director of human resources at DuSable Museum of African American History where she provides overall strategic human resource leadership to the organization. Prior to DuSable Museum, Leticia served as director of human resources at Fay Servicing, a mortgage and debt management company. She joined the firm when it was a start-up, built the HR department, and managed more than 450 employees at four locations. Prior to Fay, Leticia was associate human resources director at Family Focus, Inc., a non-profit that connects families with community services. She joined Family Focus after a two-year stint at the Chicago Urban League and 14 years in marketing and finance positions at Motorola, Inc. Leticia earned a BA from Dillard University in New Orleans, LA and an MBA from Roosevelt University.

David Moore, Partner - Laner Muchin, Ltd.
David is a partner at the law firm of Laner Muchin, Ltd., which assists employers with respect to employment litigation, labor relations, employee benefits, and employment related immigration. David represents employers in federal and state court and before federal, state and local administrative agencies on matters ranging from wage and hour class actions, single and multi-plaintiff discrimination, harasssment and wrongful discharge claims, and non-compete issues. She concentrates her practice on employment-based immigration, including H-1B and other nonimmigrant employment-based visas, family-based immigration, naturalization, federal court litigation, and waivers of inadmissibility.

Rachel Ablin is the founder of Ablin Law, PC a firm focused on conducting independent investigations of suspected workplace misconduct. Ms. Ablin has extensive employment law experience. Prior to starting her firm, Ms. Ablin worked for over 19 years as in-house employment counsel for Walgreens. In her role at Walgreens, she successfully advised business clients on a broad spectrum of employment and labor law matters. This included advising clients on complex and high risk employee relations issues, conducting and directing internal investigations, representing the company before administrative agencies nationwide and successfully managing Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, PDA, retaliation and public accommodation single plaintiff and class action litigation.
Aaron Gelb, Shareholder - Vedder Price PC
Aaron is a Shareholder at Vedder Price PC and a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment practice area. He represents employers in all aspects of equal employment opportunity, wrongful discharge and labor relations litigation before federal and state courts and federal, state and local fair employment and administrative agencies such as the EEOC, Illinois Department of Human Rights, Cook County Civil Rights Commission, Department of Labor, National Labor Relations Board and OSHA. Phil is a legal counselor and advisor on labor and employment law. He has substantial experience in employment discrimination, as well as wage and hour class and collective action litigation before federal and state administrative agencies and federal and state courts. Mr. Schreiber also is experienced in issues relating to drug and alcohol testing, the WARN Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, military leave, wrongful discharge, employee handbooks, employment contracts, covenants not to compete, separation agreements, unemployment compensation benefits claims, and various other employment-related matters. In addition, Mr. Schreiber is experienced in traditional labor matters, including union elections, contract arbitration, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.
Caralyn Olie, Associate in the Labor & Employment - Vedder Price
Caralyn represents management in all areas of employment law, including claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. She defends employers in state and federal court and before the NLRB, EEOC and Illinois Department of Human Rights. Ms. Olie also counsels employers on all aspects of employment law. Ms. Olie graduated in 2008 from Cornell University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations. After graduating from Cornell, Ms. Olie worked in the Human Resources Department of Morgan Stanley in New York. Ms. Olie graduated in 2013 from the Ohio State University Law School, where she focused her course work on labor and employment law. She received the CALI award for excellence in Labor Law and also participated in the alternative dispute resolution program and is a certified mediator in Ohio.
