Facilitated Discussion:

Michelle Mazur is quoted as saying, “The way you communicate in challenging times dictates whether your organization thrives or barely survives.” During this workshop, Shaily Hakiman will help you discover tricks for understanding your audience’s perspective, influencing others to consider a new perspective, and handling feedback effectively. Though this workshop is focused on the Communication as outlined by SHRM’s Competency Model, it will also touch on ethical practices, global and cultural effectives, and relationship-management as they relate to tough conversations.

Shaily Hakiman is the Creator, Facilitator, and Energizer behind Friending Our Foes, a workshop and movement for tackling controversial topics head on while learning healthy conversation tactics. Shaily has facilitated workshops with a variety of schools, activist groups, and professional organizations, including the Human Resources Technology Experience.

About the Emerging Leaders:

Programming for the Emerging Leaders is based on the SHRM Competency Model for HR Professionals who are early in their careers. This model identifies what it takes to be a successful HR professional across the performance continuum; around the globe; and across all career levels, job roles and job functions.
