Part I:

Do The Right Thing:  A Workplace Harassment Prevention Simulation

Finally, a sexual harassment training that won’t leave you bored to tears! In this highly-interactive, simulation-style training, participants step into a management role at a fictitious start-up company and start seeing and hearing things that might be, that could be…sexual harassment. Over the course of the training, you are presented with information about what people are doing and saying in the company and you’ll have to decide if (and how) you’re going to respond. But don’t worry, this training will arm you with the information you need to address harassment as well as instill a culture that upholds your policies.

The bottom line is that harassment prevention is not the sole responsibility of HR -- every employee, manager, and leader should be involved. Perception and impact, not necessarily intent, are key to determining if a statement or behavior could be considered harassment.  In this interactive simulation, we help participants define harassment, understand the investigation process, and recognize the business risks associated with tolerating unacceptable behaviors.

Participants leave this program with the ability to: 

  • Understand how to bring your company’s policy on harassment prevention to life
  • Identify quid pro quo vs. hostile work environment harassment, and retaliation
  • Take action if you do experience or witness harassment
  • Know what to do if an employee shares a harassment complaint with you

Sexual Harassment: The recent high-profile sexual harassment incidents highlight that when senior management is accused of such misconduct, the company’s reputation—and even survival—is at stake.  The ability to respond immediately to the negative publicity from such allegations can be the difference between preserving or losing that reputation.  This workshop will provide a refresher on investigations into such claims and, perhaps more importantly, provide you with the crisis-management tools that are critical in the first few days after the news is public.  These crisis-management tools are critical for HR as you serve as a strategic and proactive business partner.  The module will blend content, discussion, and experiential “eyes on” learning.
