Attendees will participate in an interactive lecture and series of improvisation-based exercises led by professional improvisers. By the end of the workshop they will have learned and practiced how to use verbal and non-verbal techniques to enhance their interpersonal communication skills, more quickly build rapport, and establish trust with others. improve it! conveys the theme that “Focus + Trust = Your Targeted Message” and does this by incorporating improvisation activities. After each activity, the group will debrief and relate it back to the key message. Participants will then write an action plan as a result of each activity in their “improve it! workbook.”

Program Learning Objectives:
  • Discover that being fully present and focused can rid you of fear and being in your heads
  • Find the words that best express your thoughts and choose words that best resonate with your audience
  • Trust in the first instinct that comes to mind, go with gut feelings and don’t overthink before jumping in
  • Be encouraged and inspired through focus and trust to deliver a target message
  • Think quickly on your feet to deliver your targeted message
