During this workshop, you will learn from several organizations from varying sizes and industries how they partner with leaders within their organization to determine their businesses talent needs. They will also discuss how they creatively source candidates, their interview process from screening to offer, and how talent is on-boarded at their organizations. You will take away strategies and tips that can be applied within your organization whether you are building from the ground up or iterating on an existing process.

- Identify areas of their recruiting process that can be improved
- Discuss what recruiting tools and platforms can be used to create efficiencies
- Determine what metrics are helpful for evaluation and evaluate whether their talent acquisition strategies are successful
Kate Devereux, Senior Recruiter – Strata Decision Technology
Kate is the Senior Recruiter at Strata Decision Technology, a Healthcare technology company in Chicago, IL. Kate is responsible for full-cycle recruitment and initial onboarding of all new team members at Strata. She was the first recruiter to join Strata’s People Operations team and helped to build their processes around efficient and effective hiring. Kate specializes in hiring for client-facing roles and also heads up their internship and university recruitment programs throughout the year. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a focus in management. She has both agency and internal recruitment experience to draw from to help facilitate this workshop.
America Baez, Diversity & Inclusion Talent Acquisition Leader - Verizon
America creates and leads strategic diversity recruiting and talent attraction initiatives. Previously, she was a Senior Manager of Global Talent Acquisition Programs and Employment Branding at Verizon Connect where she built and lead talent change management initiatives, employment branding and integrations during a period of explosive growth at Verizon Connect. She also has extensive leadership experience with Fortune 100 companies including Accenture and Comcast. America has been involved in several professional organizations including Prospanica (FKA) National Society of Hispanic MBAs) where she served as National Board Member and past Chicago Chapter President receiving the prestigious “Brillante” Award for her contributions to the organization. In addition, America was selected to the prestigious National Hispana Leadership Institute (NHLI) Executive Leadership Program in 2011. America is currently a Board Member of the Society of Talent Acquisition & Recruitment (STAR Chicago) where she launched the organization’s first ever Mentoring Program for Talent Acquisition Professionals.
