Chicago SHRM’s HR Team UP was designed with you in mind…that “you” being ANYONE in the HR space looking to learn from and solve problems with other HR-minded people.  As a TEAM, we will work together to lift UP one another and the HR practice.  The best part, you drive the agenda.  Whatever HR topic, challenge, question, or concern you have on your mind, bring it to the Team UP and we will all mental jungle gym together in a safe space.  Using the collective knowledge and expertise of our peers, we will come together to help, support, and teach one another.

Building a diverse team has rightfully become a priority for companies at all stages of growth.  From startups to Fortune 100 companies – leaders are expected to have clear thoughts on, and a strategy for, building and empowering a diverse workforce.  Indeed, the demand for Diversity and Inclusion job postings increased by over 20% last year alone.  The task of building out a diversity strategy almost always falls to the HR team.  Most HR leaders have the passion but not the experience to build a great strategy from the ground up.  This Team Up will focus on four key areas to help HR leaders think through and roll out effective plans to increase diversity in their organization.  Whether you are an HR team of one at a high growth tech company or a Chief Diversity Officer we promise you will come away having learned something new.  Attendees will learn directly from the HR practitioners – not vendors. They will explore what has and hasn’t worked and will learn how they may be able to apply the lessons of other leaders to help their companies be more effective in this space.  As with all HR Team Ups, there will be plenty of time for attendees to share best practices, problem-solve, network and get to know each other.
